Siemens Troubleshooting to try

  • Check the power to your house
  • Check your washer circuit breaker
  • If your washer motor has overheated, it will work again when it gets back to a normal operating temperature. Try unplugging your machine, waiting fifteen minutes then trying again
  • Is the washer door/lid fully closed? If the door/lid isn’t pushing on the closed switch, the machine won’t work
  • Have you accidentally started a delayed start timer? Follow the reset directions to reset your machine and cancel the timer
  • Is your machine full of suds? You might have used too much detergent and the machine is unable to drain
  • Is the drain hose kinked or clogged?
  • Are the water taps still turned on?
  • Check for a clogged filter

How to restart/reset/reboot your Siemens washer?

Looking to reset your Siemens washer to clear it and see if that helps get your machine started again? There really isn’t a way to reset the washing machine. What you can do instead is power cycle it: Unplug it (or turn off power at the circuit breaker), wait some time for the electrical charge to clear out of the washer (usually 1 to 5 minutes at most), and then power it up again. This is the closest you can get to a reset of the washer. A power cycle can, in rare instances, resolve your issue all by itself. Most of the time it won’t, though, and you’ll need to troubleshoot the issue you’re having in order to resolve it.

Typically, this procedure will be:

  1. Unplug your washer
  2. Wait 5 minutes
  3. Plug in your washer
  4. Did this work? If not, try to press/hold the power/start button for ten seconds or press/hold the play/pause button for ten seconds

How to clean your Siemens washer filter

Your Siemens Front load washing machine is equipped with a drain pump filter that makes lost buttons or loose change a thing of the past. Siemens recommends cleaning out the drain pump filter of any lost items and lint buildup on a monthly basis. Ensure you disconnect your washer before cleaning.

Cabinet

Use only soap and water.

Control panel, base, etc

Use only a moist towel.

Do not use Scouring powder, Metal pads or plastic sponges or Alcohol-based products (alcohol, diluents, etc.).

Interior components

It is suggested:

  • Leave the lid open for some time after washing.
  • Clean the plastic and rubber parts of the washtub inlet about once a month with soapy water. Rinse thoroughly to remove all traces of this cleaning material.
  • It is suggested that the 90°C washing programme be run at regular intervals.

Cleaning the pump filter

This filter collects bits of fluff and small objects, i.e. detached buttons that have fallen into the container.

To clean, proceed as follows:

  • Open the drum lid. On the floor of the drum, there is a laundry agitator. Unfasten this part.
  • Insert a dowel (for example, a pencil or a screwdriver) in the hole in part
  • Press this dowel downwards and simultaneously slide towards the right until it releases
  • Remove this part
  • Gently turn the drum with the open lid to front side of the machine

  • Remove pump filter from its holder
  • Remove foreign objects and fluff
  • Clean filter under running water
  • Press filter back into its holder up to the stop

  • Reinstall part and slide the laundry agitator to the left until it engages audibly
